TUE 7:30 PM– Bible Study
Welcome to the community of faith, the family of God! God’s love is here for us. We abide in Christ Jesus, in love and compassion. May our spirits be renewed and our connection to God be strengthened through our worship.
Bible Study starts 7:30 PM on Tuesdays via Zoom. Bible Study is currently reading Jesus, Christ and Servant of God: Meditations on the Gospel According to John by David Johnson. You do not need to have read or have a copy of the book available as we read a section and then discuss.
On Tuesday June 1 at 7:30 pm Bible Study will be starting a discussion of the book “Jesus and Nonviolence” by Walter Wink. In this book Wink argues that Christian tradition of nonviolence is needed as an alternative to the dominant and death-dealing powers of our consumerist culture and fractured world. While you can join Bible Study any time, the start of a new book is a great time to start attending.
Next Sunday, May 16, we will have our Monthly Meeting for Business following service at 1:15PM.
May 16 at 11:00 AM worship we will have a moment of meditation on the life of Sally Laidlaw-Willams on the occasion of her birthday.
Registration for Friends United Meeting’s annual Stoking the Fire Retreat: Hope and Light is open. The retreat will be May 21–23, 2021 and held on zoom. A schedule and registration can be found on the FUM website.
