Barbecue! Barbecue! Barbecue! Come one, come all! There will be a barbecue after meeting for worship on July 29. We will have hamburgers and hot dogs including vegan hamburgers and hot dogs, with all the trimmings. Potato salad, anyone?

The Peace, Environment and Christian Social Concerns meeting that had been scheduled for July 22 has been cancelled and will be rescheduled.

Safeway’s Feed the Need campaign is now under way through July 31. This summer the Berkeley Food Pantry is a recipient of donated food from Safeway Community Market at 1850 Solano Ave. and Safeway Community Market at 1550 Shattuck Ave. in Berkeley. As a reminder, customers can remove a tear sheet and donate $1, $5 or $10 at checkout. All donations will be rolled up to a $10 bag. Thank you for your ongoing support of the Berkeley Food Pantry.

The Berkeley Neighborhood Food Project’s next Harvest Day is Saturday, August 11.  Please bring all your non-perishable contributions together on Sunday, August 5, so we can give thanks together, and pray for all of the hungry folks in our community.  Also, help will be needed on Harvest Day from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.  We need more volunteers in Aug. because our regular crew is on vacation.  If you are interested in helping, please contact Amy St. George, Pantry Manager or Dharma Galang, Pantry Director.

Berkeley Food Pantry will have its summer work day on August 4 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 noon. We will have bagels and coffee in the morning to help us start our day. First Congregational Church’s Young Adult Group will be at the work day to help, so please come to enjoy volunteering and getting to know our First Congregational Church friends. If you are interested in helping, please speak to Dharma Galang, Director.

Now that Micah Bales and Faith Kelly have accepted our call to become co-pastors of Berkeley Friends Church, everyone is encouraged to read Micah’s blog. Micah welcomes phone calls: see Tomi!

The church’s website has much interesting and informative information – notices, schedules of events, streaming of past sermons, and more. Check it out!
