Coming from places that have seen better days, God bids us to celebrate this day, a day full of new possibilities. Coming with our breath taken away by grief, the Holy Spirit breathes new life within us, renewing our connection with God and with one another. Coming to worship seeking a hope that will endure, Christ unbinds the fetters that hold us in death, speaking in word and sacrament, and building community for holy service.

Quaker Heritage Day is postponed at this time.

Due to the Coronavirus, the Berkeley Crop Hunger Walk will be a virtual walk this year. This means participants will walk individually or in small groups on Sunday, March 29th if they choose to do so and post it on-line. The big walk at St. Mary Magdalene Parish will not happen. Cassidy, Tom & Dharma will walk on Sunday March 29th at a location TBD. Please still donate! The Berkeley Food Pantry, Dorothy Day House of Berkeley, Youth Spirit Artworks, and Church World Services still need your donations and help! Please consider donating to Dharma & Cassidy on team Berkeley Quakers at: www.crophungerwalk.org/berkeleyca/CassidyGalang and www.crophungerwalk.org/berkeleyca/DharmaGalang. April 5, 1:15 – 3:00 PM – Origami Crane folding, for Tsuru (“cranes”) for Solidarity – a June march in Washington DC organized by the Japanese-American Community to close the immigration camps. “Fold In” will now be from your home. Ask Tomi for questions.

If you’re interested in exploring Berkeley Friends Church Membership, please see Peter Brewer or Louise Neal. You will learn some history of early Friends as well as current faith and practice. We will begin a new class April 19, 2020.

Census 2020: Don’t forget to respond to your notice either online, by phone or by paper form after April 8th. The census will only ask 9 questions and by law cannot be shared with anyone including ICE, the police, or other government agencies. An undercount will have a huge effect on our area. For example, if we have an undercount of 6% in Alameda County, the county will lose $1 billion over 10 years. For more info see www.acgov.org/Census2020
